Palmilla Golf Club was the first Jack Nicklaus Signature course in Latin America and the course that launched Los Cabos as a golf destination. Since 1993 it has grown to 27 holes across three nines, Mountain, Arroyo and Ocean, with desert canyons and Sea of Cortez views. In 2026 the club began the biggest transformation in its history, a full renovation with Fry/Straka Global Golf Course Design. This guide is for golfers and buyers from California, Texas and Arizona. It covers what’s open now, what’s changing, who can play and when each course is expected to reopen.

The club is working with Fry/Straka to modernize the courses while respecting Nicklaus’s original design. Much of the irrigation and drainage dates back more than 30 years, so the project goes well beyond cosmetics.

After the renovation, Palmilla will have 18 championship holes (Mountain and Arroyo), a 9-hole par-3 course, an 8-hole short course and a new practice facility.
