What’s the Next Golf Course to Open in Los Cabos?
Los Cabos has long been one of the premier golf destinations in the world. With its stunning desert-meets-ocean landscapes and a roster of world-renowned designers like Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman, and Tiger Woods, the region has continued to attract golf enthusiasts from around the globe.
However, it's been six years since a brand-new course opened — the longest pause since golf development began in the region with the Vidanta Los Cabos course in 1987. But the wait is almost over, and 2025–2026 will bring exciting new additions to the Los Cabos golf scene.
Slated to be the next golf course to open in Los Cabos, The Legacy Club is a collaboration between Discovery Land Company and Ernie Els. Sprigging began in summer 2025, and the course is expected to welcome its first players by late 2026. Designed with luxury and playability in mind, the Legacy Club promises to elevate Cabo’s already world-class golf offerings.
In addition to The Legacy Club, two other courses are expected to open in the near future. One will be a second course by Tiger Woods at Diamante Cabo San Lucas, following the success of El Cardonal, host of the PGA TOUR’s World Wide Technology Championship. Another course is being developed by Tom Fazio, whose previous work in Cabo includes Quivira Golf Club.
The addition of three new golf courses will increase the total number in Los Cabos to 21, further enhancing its reputation as the golf capital of Latin America. This growth also fuels the real estate market, particularly in golf communities like Diamante, Quivira, Club Campestre, and Puerto Los Cabos.
